Peter de Kock has over 25 years of experience as a consultant in the area of VAT and real property transfer tax. Peter has (very) extensive experience with the international VAT aspects involved in the import and export of goods and in intra-Community transactions in general (both intra-Community trade within the EU and import and export with countries outside the EU). His activities include advising foreign companies on the use of a fiscal representative for VAT in the Netherlands. Peter also provides advice – as a “generalist” – on the many VAT questions that can arise in both the commercial and non-commercial sector.
Peter was born in 1957 and started his working life as a VAT and Customs Inspector (1984-1990). After this, he worked as a specialist in indirect taxes at the firm Loyens & Volkmaars, now: Loyens Loeff (1990-1998). He then joined KPMG Meijburg & Co., again working as a specialist in indirect taxes (1998-2005, from 2000 as managing director). Since 2005 Peter has worked at DHK, as an independent VAT consultant and one of the co-founders.
Peter is a native speaker of Dutch, is fluent in English and has a good command of German. He graduated at Erasmus University Rotterdam in Dutch Law, and at the University of Leiden in Tax Law.
